Lydbury North
Lydbury North is a town and a geographically big civil parish in south Shropshire, England.The population of the Civil Parish at the 2011 census was 695. The parish is locally called Lydbury and there is no negotiation called Lydbury South. It is located at grid referral SO352859. It is positioned in the south west corner of the county, near to the towns of Clun and Bishop's Castle. The B4385 road runs through the village, as does the Jack Mytton Way. To the west is the village as well as parish of Colebatch. There is a part-time post office, area store, institution as well as church here. Also there is a pub called the Powis Arms. According to the Institute for Name Studies the name is Old English in derivation as well as indicates 'Stronghold on the * Hlyde (= noisy stream)', possibly a very early name for the River Kemp. The town lies between 155m as well as 165m above sea level. Whilst the land to the south is level, to the north it rises steeply. Priors Holt, Priors Holt Hillside as well as Churchmoor go to the northeastern extremities of the parish, the church of which in Lydbury North, St Michael and All Angels, consists of a small Catholic chapel.
