Managing the way your property is heated is one of the better ways to lower costly energy expenses and leave you with much more disposable income at the end of each and every month. All things considered, 60% of your energy bill is from heating your property, so it's certainly a great starting point.
With the right controls you'll have the ability to keep your house at a comfy temperature, while at the same time not losing extra money on fuel. You'll also be able to keep your house co2 emissions down also.
The good news is, home heating control systems can be used with any central heating boiler, no matter the style or even age. This means there's a saving to be made should you just go out there and get it.
By putting in a heating management system it will save you between £70 and £150 annually. On top of this there are a lot of CO2 emissions to be reduced also and you will slash between 310kg and 630kg on a yearly basis.
Also look at the temperature you have your thermostat set on. By just switching it down only one degree, you can save approximately £75 yearly and won't feel a difference in temperature either.
The typical cost of Heating control system is £300. Costs differ based upon the materials and the tradesman selected. The upper price range can be as high as £345. The material costs are normally about £75

Kenilworth is a town and civil parish in the county of Warwickshire. It is situated on Finham Brook, a tributary to the River Sowe, which joins the River Avon approximately two miles north-east of the centre of the town. The 2011 Census documented that the town has a population of 22413. Although it is near to the University of Warwick in Coventry, the student population of the town continues to be relatively small, consisting mainly of postgraduate students and staff at the university. The town is primarily popular for the ruins and beautiful gardens of Kenilworth Castle, which was established around 1120 in the Norman period, but continued to be lived in until the end of the Tudor period. After 1983, Kenilworth Rotary Club has actually arranged a fun run in June in between Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle, called the 2 Castles Run, which draws in increasing numbers of participants, with 3000 entrants in 2010 and 4000 in 2011. Kenilworth Abbey in Abbey Fields Park, St. Nicholas' Parish Church, and Kenilworth Clock, as well as The Cross, a Michelin Star pub, are also attractive places for travelers and visitors to the town. Kenilworth is the home of numerous independent merchants and businesses, but the streets are increasingly filled by high street stores, offering its residents and visitors an abundance of possibilities to shop. Smart controls such as Hive are the next generation technology with more and more people now converting their houses into smart homes to control multiple devices in the homes remotely. Smart technology can be incorporated with several household devices such as security, lighting, entertainment and more. But what if there’s an oil boiler installed in your home, can you still connect your Hive with the your heating? Well, simply read on to find out.
The answer to this question is yes, most oil boilers are compatible with Hive and can substitute for either an existing conventional programmer or thermostat. The smart technology works to help derive more benefits from your heating system and they usually come with apps which can be used to control your home’s heating from anywhere with just your mobile device. Hive, however, cannot work to replace the functions of smart oil boiler heating controls to modulate your heating as they only work on an on or off basis. To make use of the modulating technology in an oil boiler, the cost of manufacture would be considerably higher while offering little advantage in efficiency for the home or property owner. Ultimately, this implies that you can’t incorporate smart technology to control the output in a similar way as a gas boiler, but there are still some ways to utilize smart technology with your oil boiler in such a way to boost your efficiency and lessen the energy bills.
Do you want to use your Hive with your home’s oil boiler? We’d advise you get in touch with an OFTEC qualified engineer if you wish to install Hive Active Heating on your oil boiler, as British Gas engineer do not offer this service.

Generally, a smart thermostats will save you money in two major ways. These includes:
• They Do All The Thinking For You

It also offers a plethora of features which enables you to heat your home more efficiently while also cutting your energy bills. Here, we’ll be taking a deeper look at the Tado smart thermostat (a user friendly smart thermostat with multiple impressive features such as a great design, self learning and LED interface).
A Tado smart thermostat is a relatively small piece of kit which is perfect for tech-lovers looking to get a first experience of the smart thermostats’ world. Although the appliance might feature just a basic design with a bit less advanced features in comparison with other thermostats like Hive, Nest and more, it however, still comes with some fantastic features which you can’t afford to miss out on. These includes geofencing, Smartphone or tablet control as well as heat scheduling. As you would have expected with any good smart thermostat, the ability to remotely control your heating is a top priority for several smart thermostats’ owners and Tado offers you this and more. Therefore, no more worries during the Winter months and wishing your home should be warm and perfect for your return. Aside this, a Tado smart thermostat also goes a long way to ensure efficient energy use and as a result, reducing the money paid on energy bills.
Overall, Tado is a nicely designed smart thermostat which is relatively easy to use and a perfect option for homeowners interested in having a taste of the world of smart thermostats or looking to replace their existing device.
If you’re building a connected home, a smart thermostat allows you to change the temperature in your home. And not only do several smart thermostats come with touch screens and a user friendly interface, but they’re also compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and other voice controlled personal assistants. So how does a smart thermostat work? Let’s have a look!
Generally, smart thermostats are connected to the home’s Heating and/or Air Con system via C wire (common wire). Homes that lacks a C wire (especially older homes) will have to install one first before getting a smart thermostat. The C wire is a crucial element in the installation process as it works mainly to wire your smart thermostats into the Boiler system without tampering with the wiring for the other appliances in the house.
The smart thermostats comes with some special temperature setting which you can access by connecting them to your home’s WiFi. These include:
• Mobile Control
Most smart thermostats are specially designed to enable users to control the temperature of their home from the comfort of their couch or car via their unique mobile apps. This feature is just perfect if you particularly like getting the perfect temperature in your home without having to get out of bed.
• Humidity Controls
Although, the humidity of your home can not really be adjusted with a smart thermostat but you can always stay on top of it by monitoring it or setting an alarm on your phone to go off when the humidity changes.
• Geofencing Feature
With a smart thermostat, you can choose the particular times of the day you want it in action. This feature enables you to go on impromptu travels without having to worry about your energy bills - some smart thermostats come with the geotracking feature which determines when you’ve left the house and adjusts the temperature of the home accordingly with your energy usage in mind.
