Haverhill is a market town and civil parish in the county of Suffolk. It is located on the borders of Essex and Cambridgeshire, being located 14 miles south-east of Cambridgeshire and 47 miles north-east of central London. The town centre lies at the base of a dip in the chalk hills of the Newmarket Ridge, and the Stour Brook, which eventually joins the River Stour away from the town, passes through Haverhill. It is the 2nd biggest town in the Borough of St. Edmundsbury, with a population of 27041. Haverhill is referred to as a modern-day and young town. It has two Non-League football clubs, Haverhill Rovers F. C. and Haverhill Borough F. C., a baseball team, and numerous sporting activities are readily available at a leisure centre consisting of a swimming pool, a gym and a children's soft play area.
