An engineered wooden door is a door made out of multiple pieces of wood. This is opposed to solid wooden doors that are made out of one piece of wood.Engineered wooden doors are usually covered by veneer to make them look like they are made from one piece of wood. They tend to be sturdier and straighter than solid doors.
Aberfoyle
Aberfoyle is a community in Stirling, Scotland. It is about 27 miles from Glasgow. It lies along the River Forth at the bottom of Craigmore which is 420 metres high. In 2010, it was estimated that the population was 800.
During the 1820s to the 1950s, the slate quarries on Craigmore were a principal industry for Aberfoyle. Other trades, established in the 1720s, included wool spinning and a lint mill.
From 1882, Aberfoyle had its own railway station, but this closed to passengers in 1951 and to commercial traffic in 1959. Nowadays the community is supported by the forestry industry and tourism.
Aberfoyle describes itself as 'The Gateway to the Trossachs'. Its positioning attracts visitors as they can go to see Loch Lomond and the Lake of Menteith, Scotland's single lake. The nearby Queen Elizabeth Forest Park arranges walks round the local lochs. Aberfoyle also has the largest Go Ape adventure course in the UK, with the longest zipline in the country. Visitors can also see the 'Quack Commandoes', where a sheepdog herds Indian Runner ducks!
