With time guttering can get clogged by waste, leaves, or moss which can result in leaks or damage to the guttering. Leaking or poorly draining guttering can cause further problems to the building including severe structural issues, therefore it is vital to have your guttering cleaned if you suspect there may be any obstructions. Routine preventative cleaning will make sure that your guttering is collecting and diverting rainwater as efficiently as possible. Cleaning guttering is typically done by using specialist equipment like telescopic hoses or high access vans, and professional guttering companies can use this equipment to clear blockages and clean out the guttering system. Guttering blockages can lead to a accumulation of water in the guttering itself. This is exceptionally serious in downpipes, where water may sit for a considerable period of time. In winter this water could freeze and result in serious damage to the guttering. Preventative gutter cleaning is critical to prevent this from happening. Expert guttering companies can examine your gutter cleaning and maintenance requirements and agree on a regular routine of work with you, ensuring that they abide by all health and safety requirements for working at height. The type and frequency of gutter cleaning may vary depending on the style of guttering you have as well as the position of any near by trees, but a standard guide is that cleaning should be performed twice yearly to ensure that your guttering remains in the best condition possible.

Y Felinheli

Y Felinheli, previously known in English as Port Dinorwic, is a town, neighborhood and electoral ward beside the Menai Strait between Bangor and Caernarfon in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. The population of the town was 2,284 at the 2011 Census. Y Felinheli has its origins in two hamlets, Tafarngrisiau near St Mary's Church and Aberpwll to the north-east where there was a mill on the Afon Heulyn. The mill was reconstructed closer to the sea in 1633 as well as gave its name to the settlement. The location was largely farming until the location was transformed by slate quarrying in the 19th century. A new dock was constructed in 1828 when lime was removed at Brynadda as well as slate as well as lime were loaded and culm (coal dirt or anthracite slack) was brought in to fire the lime kilns. The owners of the Vaynol Estate, the Assheton Smiths, owned most of the land in Y Felinheli and also established the Dinorwic Quarry in the late 18th century, They also built the harbour to export slate transferred to the quay by the Dinorwic Railway, a narrow gauge railway that was ultimately replaced by the Padarn Railway. Industrial development offered Y Felinheli (Felin-hely, 1838) the alternate name Port Dinorwig or Port Dinorwic.
