You may need planning permission if you are planning a larger extension. All extensions will need building regulations approval. An architect can assist with this and if planning permission is required. A reputable contractor will also be able to advise you if this is needed as well.
Wylam
Wylam is a village in the region of Northumberland. It lies about 10 miles (16 km) west of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is famous for the being the birth place of George Stephenson, one of the early railway leaders. George Stephenson's Birthplace, his cottage, can be found on the north bank of the Tyne 3/4 mile (1.2 km) eastern of the town centre. It is possessed by the National Trust yet is not open to the public. Wylam has better connections with the very early train pioneers. The steam locomotive engineer Timothy Hackworth, who dealt with Stephenson, was also born right here. William Hedley that was born in the nearby town of Newburn went to the town college. He later on went on to make and also manufacture Blowing Billy in 1813, two years before George Stephenson produced his initial locomotive Blücher. Christopher Blackett as lord of the chateau in the first 30 years of the 19th century supplied the business drive that encouraged these designers.
