You may need planning permission if you are planning a larger extension. All extensions will need building regulations approval. An architect can assist with this and if planning permission is required. A reputable contractor will also be able to advise you if this is needed as well.
Heriot
Heriot is a small town in the Moorfoot Hills southeast of Edinburgh, Scotland, within Eildon (part of the Scottish Borders council location, though traditionally in Midlothian). The village consists of some 150 residences, spread over a geographical area of around 50 square miles (130 km2), a lot of which is moorland. Connected to the rest of the globe mainly with the A7 road, Heriot had a railway station from 1849 up until the branch line closures prompted by Beeching caused the track to be uplifted in the 1960s. The Scottish Parliament elected, in 2006, to renew the train, but without a station at Heriot. The School (since Sept 2016) has 36 students. There are numerous neighborhood groups operating in the village including dramatization teams, WRI, a neighborhood choir and also a karate club. Places near to Heriot consist of Borthwick, Carcant, Crichton, Fala, Stow of Wedale and also Innerleithen.
