For those who have a unused garage area, why not consider a conversion within Emsworth and make the most from your house. Compare and contrast up to 4 totally free prices with this service and get the top price for a conversion.
One of the major advantages with a garage conversion would be that the space can be transformed quickly for the extra room you need, whether or not it's for a growing family or simply just to add to the value of your home.
A garage conversion means you won't have to move for extra space, which often can save you a lot of money on solicitor costs, estate agent payments and stamp duty. And the extra room could be transformed into whatever you need, whether it's an expansion to the living area or kitchen, or perhaps a separate room completely.
With the infrastructure already in place it's clear that a garage conversion will be cheaper than constructing an extension too, and won't consume important space in your garden. With the outside not likely to change too, it's an alternative way to get around regulations for conservation areas and listed buildings.
If you're keen on remodeling your garage, assess prices from companies in Emsworth using our quick and simple service to get the best deal available.

Emsworth is a town in Hampshire on the south coast of England, near the border of West Sussex. It lies at the north side of an arm of Chichester Harbour, a sizeable and shallow inlet from the English Channel. Adjacent to Emsworth is Thorney Island. The River Ems, which is named after the village and not, as is often believed, the town being named after the river, passes into the Slipper millpond. The mill itself is now made use of as office spaces. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent resident population of around 9492 people. Emsworth expanded quickly during the 20th century, reaching a population of about 5000 by the middle of the century after having around 2000 locals in the 19th century. The 1000th house in Emsworth was developed in 1953. In the 1960s, substantial parts of the area were developed with a mix of cottage and terraced housing. In 1906, development started on the post office, with regional cricketer George Wilder laying an etched brick. The renamed Emsworth Recreation Ground dates from 1909 and is the current home of Emsworth Cricket Club, which was established in 1811 and enjoyed its Bicentennial in 2011. It was signified with a Grand Match against the MCC. Cricket in Emsworth has actually been played at the same ground, Cold Harbour Lawn, since 1761. In the 19th century, the town had as many as 30 pubs and beer houses. The village has a basin for small private yachts and fishing boats, which fills at high tide and can be drained through a sluice at low tide. For all your home refurbishments, be sure to identify respected contractors in Emsworth to make certain of quality.

Most companies will make the building control application on your behalf and ensure that all the work is completed to the right standards. When a building inspector has inspected it, you’ll get a certificate. It usually takes around 6-8 weeks after completion to come.
Garage conversion is a great way to add extra usable space to your home without having to extend your property. A fun fact is that, in the UK if you have your car parked in the garage, you’re in the minority. According to a research carried out by Admiral Loans, just about 33 percent of home owners in the UK store their cars in the garage. For most people the garage is literally a dumping ground that’s never fully utilized as such. In recent times, the garage is now being used to store a variety of other stuffs asides a car which includes garden furniture, tools and appliances, utilities such as washing machine, fridge and freezer as well as food and groceries. These facts show that more and more people are underutilizing their garage when they may actually be in need of more usable space in their property. So why not put into consideration converting the garage into a new space that would be able to serve more purpose?
If you’ve decided to convert your garage, you’d probably want to know the how long the project will take. There are a wide range of factors that can determine the duration of a garage conversion project. These factors include:
• If the foundation needs reinforcing
• If the floors, walls, or roofs are in a bad condition.
• If the ceiling height needs some raising
• If the insulation required in newer builds.
All aforementioned factors will make the garage conversion project take longer than expected. However, in normal situations garage conversions are relatively quick to complete once you start the building works. A single-car conversion will usually take about 3 to 4 weeks to complete depending on the existing garage’s structure.
Are you thinking about converting your garage into a new space? Be it a new bedroom, gym, library or playroom, one thing you’ll have to consider before getting started is whether or not you’re going to require a planning permission. Unlike extensions that needs additional space, garage conversion is all about changing the existing structure of a space that’s already available to you - your garage. As a result, these projects are mostly covered by a planning policy that’s a bit different.
For a garage conversion, it’s very unlikely that you’ll need a planning permission. As a matter of fact, only 10 percent of garage conversions has been estimated to need a full planning permission, with the others coming under the permitted development rights. The permitted development rights, however, only provides coverage for home improvements that’s internal which implies that so far you’re not trying to enlarge your garage, you’ll not require a planning permission. But if otherwise, you’ll have to submit an application before commencing your project.
If you’re looking to comply with the permitted development rights, then your project must comply with some specific guidelines. These rules include the following:
• The work should be internal. No plans to enlarge or extend the existing garage.
• You should make sure that the materials used in carrying out the garage conversion is the same with the materials used in building the existing house.
• The building should not be extended.
You may, however, require a planning permission if you’re going to change a detached garage into a living space which could be a bedroom, small annexe or a living room.
Some houses excluded from the permitted development rights include flats, listed buildings, some new developments and most homes in a conservation area.
