Meifod
Meifod, formerly also written Meivod, is a small town, neighborhood and electoral ward 7 miles north-west of Welshpool in Montgomeryshire, Powys, Wales, on the A495 road and located in the valley of the River Vyrnwy. The River Banwy has a confluence with the Vyrnwy around 2 miles to the west of the town. 57% of the population of Meifod were birthed in England. However, this is not by itself proof of any massive immigration from England; it might merely show the preference of neighborhood parents for using larger hospitals extra easily located in nearby Shropshire for delivering. The United Kingdom Census 2001 exposed that some 38% of the population (1,322) over 3 years old had some knowledge of the Welsh language with practically 20% able to talk, read and also write in Welsh. The Meifod valley organized the National Eisteddfod in 2003 and also 2015.
