Dalton-in-furness
Dalton-in-Furness is a town of 8,125 individuals, north east of Barrow-in-Furness, in Cumbria, England. It is the 2nd largest negotiation in the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness after Barrow itself and also is most noted for being the place of South Lakes Safari Zoo. Dalton is discussed in the Domesday Book, composed as "Daltune" as one of the municipalities creating the Manor of Hougun held by Tostig Godwinson, Earl of Northumbria. Historically, it was the resources of Furness. The ancient parish of Dalton covered the area which is currently inhabited by the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness. The community is currently in the civil church of Dalton Town with Newton. Historically a part of Lancashire, the town is connected with a variety of renowned musicians, including George Romney.
