Broadstone

Broadstone is a town and suburb of Poole in Dorset, England. It's positioned around 3 miles (4.8 km) from Hamworthy railway station and 7 miles (11 kilometres) from Bournemouth International Airport. Since 1840, it has developed from a little farm to a suburb. In 1840, 'Broadstone Farm' was created, and a railway line bypassed it in 1847. Its 1st church was built in 1853, which later became the Scout hall. The initial railway station was constructed in 1872 and named 'New Poole Junction' and, following several name revisions, became "Broadstone" in 1890. Broadstone First School originated as a Dame school, established in 1871. At the beginning of the twentieth century, lavender oil began being made in the town. This came to a stop in 1935 when the factory burnt down, but a significant amount of lavender can still be found around the area. Much growth of the town has occurred, especially with the development of the Pine Springs housing estate as well as the building of more schools to service the growth in population. In accordance with the 2011 Census, the town boasts a population of roughly 10,303, which has increased slightly from the around 10,000 residents measured in the 2001 Census. Centred around the main road (the B3074), 'The Broadway' is a busy hub of shops, churches, schools and housing. The shops consist of both local and national chain stores, along with cafes and restaurants. Broadstone is well known for its considerable recreation fields and heathland park, along with an annual Christmas parade and lights. The 24 acres of Broadstone Heath are some of the original heathland which covered the Poole Basin. FAQs

How to repair wooden flooring

One the several of the several benefits that comes with having a wooden floor installed is the fact that damaged surfaces can be repaired without the need to replace the floor in the whole room. This is not applicable to many other types of flooring whereby even the littlest damages are not reparable. Depending on the severity and depth of the wooden flooring damage, there are a number of techniques you can incorporate to repair the affected area. For examples, minor damages will not require as much effort as corner curling or cupping. In certain cases where the job requires no expertise, the repair process can be done by any individual with no prior experience in similar works. However, in other cases, when the wooden flooring has suffered a major damage, it’s advisable to call for a professional help.

First of all, it’s quite important to always watch out and prevent any sort of damages as this is way better than spending time trying to have the damaged surface repaired. One of the ways to prevent damages is by always lifting furniture rather than just dragging it across the floor when you need to move it. However, accidents are always meant to happen. In the case of damaged wooden flooring, here are some repair solutions.

When there are small scratches on your flooring, simply add a new coating of sealer to your floor (if the floor has already been oiled, just add another layer of oil). For lacquered floors, make use of a lacquer repair pen to help get rid of the scratches. In addition, there are some DIY shops offering wax filler sticks which can be used to hide or remove both light and medium scratches on wooden flooring.
