Fleetwood serves as a town within the Wyre area of Lancashire, England, resting in the northwest part of the Fylde. It possessed a population of 26,840 people in the 2001 Census. It forms an area of the Greater Blackpool conurbation. The town was the first scheduled community of the period. For the majority of of the twentieth century, Fleetwood was a notable deep-sea fishing port, yet, since the 1970s, the fishing industry has reduced precipitously and the town has been subject to economic difficulties. Fleetwood is also a shore holiday resort, in the role of a relaxing contrast to close by Blackpool.
