Holywell is the fifth biggest community as well as an area in Flintshire, Wales. It exists to the west of the tidewater of the River Dee. The community includes Greenfield. The marketplace town of Holywell takes its name from the St Winefride's Well, a holy well surrounded by a church. The well has been understood because at the very least the Roman period. It has been a site of Christian trip since about 660, dedicated to Saint Winefride who, according to tale, was beheaded there by Caradog who tried to attack her. The well is one of the Seven Wonders of Wales and the town bills itself as The Lourdes of Wales. Many explorers from throughout the globe continue to visit Holywell and also the Well. Administratively, Holywell town includes three wards of the Flintshire County Council regional authority. At the 2001 Census, the total population of the community was 5,974 with the adjacent villages including Greenfield, Whitford as well as Carmel the population of the location is over 15,000.
