Crickhowell
Crickhowell is a town and also community in southeastern Powys, Wales, near Abergavenny, and also remained in the historical county of Brecknockshire. The name Crickhowell is drawn from that of the neighboring Iron Age hill fort of Crug Hywel over the community, the Welsh language name being anglicised by map-makers as well as neighborhood English-speaking individuals. The community rests on the River Usk, on the southerly edge of the Black Hills and in the eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Significant parts of the bordering countryside, over 20,000 acres (81 km2) develop part of the Glanusk Park estate. A selecting ward in the same name exists. This ward includes The Vale of Grwyney community as well as has a total population of 2,801 as taken at the 2011 census. The current councillor is John Morris, a Liberal Democrat.
