In most areas, you will not need planning permission. However, if the property is listed or in a conservation area, you will need listed building consent or planning permission to paint the exterior. A surveyor or architect's advice will be invaluable as they can help with this process.
East Cowes
East Cowes is a town and civil parish to the north of the Isle of Wight, on the eastern financial institution of the River Medina next to its neighbour on the west bank, Cowes. The two communities are connected by the Cowes Floating Bridge, a chain ferryboat run by the Isle of Wight Council. East Cowes is the site of Norris Castle, and also Osborne House, the previous summer home of Queen Victoria and also Prince Albert. The Prince had a major impact on the style of the location, for example on the building of St Mildred's Church in nearby Whippingham, which includes distinctive turrets mimicing those found on a German castle.
