Ivybridge is a town and civil parish in the South Hams, in Devon, England. It lies about 9 miles (14.5 kilometres) east of Plymouth. It is at the southern extremity of Dartmoor, a National Park of England and Wales and is located along the A38 'Devon Expressway' road. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 11851 individuals. Reported in records as early as the 13th century, Ivybridge's early history is marked by its status as an important crossing-point over the River Erme on the Exeter-to-Plymouth route. In the 16th century, mills were built making use of the River Erme's power. The parish of Saint John was formed in 1836, with Ivybridge ending up being a civil parish in 1894. It emerged as a town in 1977. The early urbanisation and advancement of Ivybridge mostly coincided with the Industrial Revolution. When the South Devon Railway Company set up its train route through Ivybridge in the 19th century, a paper mill was constructed along with it, which triggered an increase in housing close by. The paper mill closed in the beginning of the 21st century, after being in operation for over 150 years in the town, and the structures are being transformed to homes and shops. The shopping area is predominantly along Fore Street, with some little shops and eateries situated in the Glanvilles Mill shopping centre which is accessible from Fore Street. The shopping centre features over 35 shops, which includes both local and nationwide chain stores, in addition to eateries and cafés. Despite occasionally described as a dormitory town, countless people work in the town itself, and agriculture continues to play an economic role for Ivybridge's hinterland. The area neighbouring Ivybridge is nearly entirely farmland. For all of your home refurbishments, be sure to find dependable specialists in Ivybridge to make certain of quality.

With age and use any electrical installation in your home will wear. A periodic inspection is therefore carried out to ensure your home electrics are in a satisfactory condition. With a periodic inspection: Ensure your electrical circuits aren’t overloaded, Avoid accidents such as shocks and fire hazards, Discover if there are any defective lines,Highlight any lack of earthing or bonding..
You should report any suspected faults to your landlord as soon as you know about them. It is their responsibility to investigate, and hire an electrician to do any work if needed. Know your obligations as a tenant and keep in touch with your landlord on a regular basis.
You can find out roughly how old your wiring is by simply looking at it. If the wiring around your fuse box is covered in old-fashioned casing, or is damaged or fraid, it may be over 25 years old and need replacing. This is more common in older properties or houses that have been empty for long periods of time.
If your fuse box keeps tripping or blowing fuses, it may need replacing. Other signs that your fuse box is not working properly include humming, sparking and lack of power. Contact an electrician and ask for a safety report, this will diagnose the problem and lead to a quick fix.
