Buckie

Buckie is a burgh town (defined thus in 1888) on the Moray Firth shore of Scotland. Historically in Banffshire, Buckie was the largest community in the region by some hundreds of residents before 1975, when the management region was abolished. The community is the 3rd biggest in the Moray council location after Elgin as well as Forres and also within the interpretations of statistics released by the General Register Office for Scotland was rated at number 75 in the list of population price quotes for settlements in Scotland mid-year 2006. Buckie exists essentially equidistant to Banff to the eastern as well as Elgin to the west with both communities being about 17 miles (27 kilometres) distant whilst Keith exists 12 mi (19 km) to the south by road. Geographically, the community is, generally speaking, outlined in a direct fashion, adhering to the shoreline. There is a lower coast area and also an upper location. Basically Buckie itself is the central part of the community lying between the Victoria Bridge under which streams the Buckie Burn at the western end of West Church Street, the eastern end of Cluny Harbour and above the coast area. To the west of Victoria Bridge and also the Buckie Burn is Buckpool, which was formerly called Nether Buckie, as well as on the shoreline, west of Cluny Harbour, in between Baron Street and the Buckie Burn mouth, there is the Yardie. Promptly above the Yardie on the Buckie side of the shed is the Seatown. To the west of the Yardie is Harbourhead. To the eastern of Cluny Harbour exist Ianstown, Gordonsburgh and Portessie likewise known in your area as The Sloch (traditionally The Rotten Slough), which reaches in the direction of Strathlene. These communities were, to all intents as well as purposes, different fishing negotiations that gradually combined throughout time. A brand-new community was laid out above the coastline in the 19th century and also this is the rump of Buckie.

FAQs

I’m a tenant in a rental property and think the electrical installation is faulty, what should I do?

You should report any suspected faults to your landlord as soon as you know about them. It is their responsibility to investigate, and hire an electrician to do any work if needed. Know your obligations as a tenant and keep in touch with your landlord on a regular basis.

How do I know if my electrical wiring is too old?

You can find out roughly how old your wiring is by simply looking at it. If the wiring around your fuse box is covered in old-fashioned casing, or is damaged or fraid, it may be over 25 years old and need replacing. This is more common in older properties or houses that have been empty for long periods of time.

How do I know if my fuse box is faulty?

If your fuse box keeps tripping or blowing fuses, it may need replacing. Other signs that your fuse box is not working properly include humming, sparking and lack of power. Contact an electrician and ask for a safety report, this will diagnose the problem and lead to a quick fix.

When should I have a periodic inspection?

Periodic testing and inspections should be completed: Every 10 years for your home, Every five years for rented accommodation, Every three years for a caravan, Every year for a swimming pool.Electrical inspections are also carried out when buying, selling or renting a property.
