Barnehurst
Barnehurst is a town and district in South East London in the London Borough of Bexley. It is north east of Bexleyheath, and is 13 miles east south-east of Charing Cross. It's separated from North Bexleyheath by the A220 Erith Road.
The town was established just after the sale of land in 1881 to build the Bexleyheath loop line in between Lewisham and Dartford. Its name comes from the name of the railway station, which was named after Colonel Barne, who owned a local property and was vice-chairman of the railway company. Right now, the railway station runs trains between London Charing Cross, London Victoria or London Cannon Street, by means of Lewisham and Eltham towards the west and Dartford railway station towards the east. There are 12 trains each hour for the duration of the week; on Sundays, there are 4 trains per hour. The railway station was openedto stimulate the development of houses. The Barnehurst Estate was built in 1926 which housed several people.
