Downham Market, often simply referred to as Downham, is a market community as well as civil parish in Norfolk, England. It pushes the side of the Fens, on the River Great Ouse, roughly 11 miles southern of King's Lynn, 39 miles west of Norwich and 30 miles north of Cambridge. The civil parish has a location of 5.2 km ² and in the 2011 census had a population of 9,994 in 4,637 homes. For the functions of city government, the parish falls within the district of King's Lynn and also West Norfolk. It is part of South West Norfolk parliamentary constituency. It was a farming centre, creating as a market for the fruit and vegetables of the Fens with a bridge throughout the Ouse.
