Strome Ferry
Stromeferry is a town, situated on the south shore of the west shore sea loch, Loch Carron, in western Ross-shire, Scottish Highlands and also remains in the Scottish council area of Highland. Its name mirrors its previous function as the location of one of the many seaside ferry services which existed before the development of the road network in the 20th century. It is served by Stromeferry train station and is close to the A890 road. Stromeferry gets on the southern bank of Loch Carron; Strome Castle is opposite on the northern financial institution. The village is described in Iain Banks's novel Engineering, where the storyteller explains the roadway sign marking the town, which states "Strome Ferry (No ferry)". Some regional shinty players once contended as "Stromeferry (No Ferry) United". The town has been subject of numerous advancement propositions concentrating on the derelict hotel. In November 2007, W.A. Fairhurst & Partners, in behalf of the Helmsley Group, protected a synopsis preparation approval for restoring the hotel and also constructing a variety of new residences.
