Kidwelly
Kidwelly is a community as well as area in Carmarthenshire, southwest Wales, about 7 miles (11 km) northwest of one of the most heavily populated town in the county, Llanelli. In the 2001 census the area of Kidwelly returned a population of 3,289, raising to 3,523 at the 2011 Census. It lies on the River Gwendraeth over Carmarthen Bay. Local attractions consist of Kidwelly Castle, established in 1106; a fourteenth-century bridge as well as entrance; the former quay (currently a nature book); a Norman parish church, and a commercial gallery. Kidwelly Circus is an annual occasion hung on the 2nd Saturday of July. Previous circus have included airborne screens. The town is twinned with French town Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer on the north coastline of Brittany.
