Abergele

Abergele is a community and modest market town. The symbolism of the name Abergele can be appreciated by 'aber' being the Welsh word for estuary, and 'Gele' the name of the river that runs through the town. Gele is a colloquial form of gelau, which means spear, thought to be characterising the action of the river traversing the land. It has also been said that this river is named due to the fact that its waters sparkle brilliantly. The town is positioned on the north coast of Wales between the holiday resorts of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl, in Conwy County Borough. Its northern suburban area of Pensarn is located on the Irish Sea coast and is famous for its beach, where it is believed by some that a ghost ship has been spotted. Abergele and Pensarn railway stations serve both resorts. The town itself is situated on the A55 road and is known for Gwrych Castle. The town is encircled by woodland covered hillsides, which feature caves with rare lesser horseshoe bats. The tallest hill is Moelfre Isaf (1040 ft) to the south of the town. There are in addition magnificent views from Cefn-yr-Ogof, which measures 669 feet, Tower Hill, which is 587 ft, and Castell Cawr (known locally as Tan-y-Gopa) which is 189 metres (620 feet). Castell Cawr is an Iron Age hillfort, and one of several in the area. Dinorben hillfort to the east of was destroyed in the 1980s. As per the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of approximately 10577 people. Within this population, around 29% possess a considerable knowledge of Welsh. How to clear snow from a gravel driveway?

Clearing snow from a gravel driveway can be tricky – you need to remove the snow without taking the gravel with it.

If the snow’s quite light and dry, try using a leaf blower. You might find that this is enough to get the snow out the way. If it isn’t, start by using a shovel. Use this to clear the top layer of snow off your driveway, leaving about an inch behind. Then, use a rake to remove most of the remaining snow. This won’t take away 100% of the snow or leave all of your gravel in place, but it’s still pretty effective. You can then lay salt to melt away the rest of the snow and stop it turning into ice.
