Cockermouth
Cockermouth is an ancient market community as well as civil parish in the District of Allerdale in Cumbria, England, so called because it goes to the confluence of the River Cocker as it flows into the River Derwent. The mid-2010 census price quotes state that Cockermouth has a population of 8,204, enhancing to 8,761 at the 2011 Census. Historically a part of Cumberland, Cockermouth is located outside the English Lake District on its northwest fringe. Much of the architectural core of the town remains unchanged given that the fundamental middle ages format was filled in the 18th as well as 19th centuries. The regenerated market area is now a central historical emphasis within the town and reflects events from its 800-year background. The town is prone to flooding as well as skilled severe floods in 2005, 2009, and 2015.
