Nantwich
Nantwich is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Cheshire East and the county of Cheshire, England. It is set on the Cheshire Plain, on the edges of the River Weaver. The Shropshire Union Canal flows through to the west of the town on an embankment, crossing the A534 through an iron aqueduct, with the basin being a common mooring for visitors to the town. Nantwich is roughly four miles south-west of Crewe and 20 miles south-east of Chester. According to the 2011 census, Nantwich has a permanent population of about 17424 and is host to a variety of various celebrations held throughout the year. The International Cheese Awards are completed in Nantwich as a part of Nantwich Show, which is an annual agricultural show held at the Dorfold Hall estate in July. It brings in roughly 30000 visitors a year. The town is known for having the most extensive collection of historic buildings in the county.
