Bradford-on-avon

Bradford on Avon is a town and civil parish in west Wiltshire, England, with a population of approximately 9,500 at the 2011 Census. The town lies partially on the Avon Valley, and partly around the hill that marks the Vale's western edge, eight miles southeast of Bath, in the hilly countryside between the Mendip Hills, Salisbury Plain along with the Cotswold Hills. The area around Bath offers the Jurassic limestone (Bath Stone) from which the town's historic buildings are constructed. The River Avon (Bristol Avon) runs through the town. The town neighbours Trowbridge to the south east. The town includes the suburban areas of Bearfield and Woolley; the parish includes the hamlets of Widbrook and Woolley Green. The town's canal, historic buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants make it attractive to tourists. The history of the town can be traced back to Roman origins. It features several buildings dating back to the seventeenth century, when the town expanded significantly on account of the successful English woollen textile industry. A notable feature of Bradford on Avon is the large Grade II* listed tithe barn, generally known as the Saxon Tithe Barn, which is 180 ft long and 30 ft wide and was constructed in the 14th century and is now part of Barton Farm Country Park. The barn would have been utilised for collecting taxes in the form of goods to fund the church. There are many distinctive buildings in and around the town centre. Several of the historic textile factories have been altered into contemporary flats and apartments, although some of the buildings are still used nowadays for their traditional purpose. For all your house improvements, ensure that you select reliable specialists in Bradford on Avon to make sure you get the top quality service.

Benefits of Hiring a Experts for Air Conditioning in a conservatory?

If you have a conservatory constructed on your property, then you should be able to to tell how uncomfortable it can get considering the UK’s harsh climate. This climate can get swelteringly hot during the summer months and also quite chilly during the winter months. As a result of being constructed with so many plain glass, conservatories are usually at the mercy of the weather outside which often limits the usage of the structure to only a few months within the year. Hence, the need to have an air conditioning system installed by a reliable professional so as to ensure you enjoy your conservatory all year round. In this post, we’re going to consider some of the benefits you stand to derive by hiring experts to install your conservatory’s air conditioning.

    • They possess the experience, skills and tools necessary to complete the project. When the construction job done right the first time, this will go a long way to save you both time and money on potential costly mistakes if you decide to undertake the project yourself.
    • They can help keep your project on budget. When it comes to fitting appliances like AC systems, it’s usually very easy to go over your budget when done alone. Since expert conservatory air conditioning installers are vastly experienced in the field, they know the cost implication for the task and can help ensure you don’t overspend or go over your budget.
    • They’re insured. The benefit of hiring an insured professional can’t be overstated. What this gives you is total peace of mind knowing fully well if anything goes wrong during the installation process, you’re fully covered by the expert’s insurance company.
What are the Most Common Air Conditioning Mistakes?

If you live in the UK, you’d know by now that no matter what’s happening in the world around us, nothing is going to stop the heat from getting in. And that’s exactly more reason why a well functioning cooling system is more of a necessity than a luxury. Hence, we’ve put together this list to help you avoid common air conditioning mistakes this summer. Let’s take a look!

    • Not changing the filter. In the summer when the heat turns up there’s a huge need to change the air filters on a regular basis ( at least once a month). This is due to the fact that your air conditioning system works extra hard and runs all the time during the warmer months. What’s more? If you happen to have pets, a large family or live with an individual who suffers from asthma or allergies, it becomes a lot more important to change your air filters. Plus, a dirty filter is capable of increasing your energy cost within the range of 5 to 15 percent on a monthly basis.
    • Not having the right size. When it comes to air conditioning, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. You simply have to purchase and install the right size for your property which is chiefly determined by the type of the dwelling, the home’s size and other factors.
    • Ignoring red flags. Calling in a technician isn’t always the most convenient thing to do especially when life gets a bit busier. However, when you choose to ignore warning signs that something is wrong with your HVAC system, you risk a total breakdown of the unit. What happens is the problem becomes an even more serious issue which will be very costly to repair or at times, replaced.
Air Conditioning Myths That are Costing You Money?

Do you wish to save money on your air conditioning expenses and energy bills? If yes, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to consider some of the common myths you shouldn’t buy into if you really wish to save some money on your air conditioning system. Let’s take a look!

    • The size of the system does not matter. This is one of the biggest mistakes you can make when purchasing an air conditioning system. A too large system will not only consume more energy meaning more higher heating bills, but will also keep turning off till it finally breaks down. And on the other hand, a system that’s too small would have to work harder to have your space cooled which means that it’ll wear down sooner. Consult a specialist in order to determine the right size of HVAC unit for your home.
    • Turn down the temperature for a faster cooling. The fact here is, your AC system works just as hard whether you lower it 4 degrees or 25 degrees. Therefore, getting the temperature you want is just a matter of time. Also, you can end up paying a higher bill if you set it lower than you need to and in the process you happen to forget about it. Here, using a programmable thermostat can save you money and you’ll also get the temperature you really want.
    • You don’t have to change the air filters. This is an idea you never buy into if you wish to save money. Air filters are usually inexpensive and can save you huge repair costs as well as heating bills on the long run. Normally, air filters should be replaced every 30 to 90 days by a specialist.
A Checklist for Buying Air Conditioning?

With the UK’s climate which can be harsh sometimes, getting an air conditioner is simply the best bet. Over here the summer months can get overbearingly hot, which does not stop the winter months from getting quite chilly. With a heating and cooling system installed in your home or property, you can easily lessen the effect of both situations, ensuring that your structure is relaxing and comfortable all year round. If you have also decided to get one and ready to take the plunge, then you’ve come to the right place. With a wide range of choices out there, there’s a need to have a checklist before you purchase a unit, in order to get one that’ll be just right for you. Let’s take a look!

    • Determine the kind of system that’s suitable for your home. We have 3 major types of air conditioning systems which includes split systems, multi split system and ducted systems. While the split system represents a great choice for those looking to heat or cool or single room or large area, the multi split system is designed to power up to 6 interior rooms at once. Finally, the ducted air conditioning systems which is usually fitted within the roof and from the central unit, a series of ducts heats or cools each rooms.
    • Consider the features of house. This includes the kind of house you own, the size of the room(s) you wish to heat or cool, whether it’s insulated, the number of windows the room(s) possess, the layout of the room(s) and lots more.
    • Your budget. Air conditioning is an investment which will often require a substantial initial outlay which can be recouped after a long period. The amount of money you can spare will play a huge role in the kind of system you’ll get.
