Boncath

Boncath is a village and postal district in north Pembrokeshire, Wales. It's located about 5 miles (8 km) to the west of Newcastle Emlyn. The village can be found at a crossroad joining the neighbouring settlements of Newchapel (Capelnewydd), Eglwyswrw, Blaenffos and Bwlchygroes. Previously a hamlet around an inn, the village grew after the creation of the railway in 1885. Boncath railway station, which opened its doors in September 1886, was a two-platform stop between Crymmych Arms and Kilgerran Halt on the Whitland and Cardigan Railway, generally known as 'Cardi Bach'. The line was closed because of the 1963 Beeching Axe and the station building was altered into private property. The village once included three tailors, a cobbler and a dressmaker, and in 2000 a new Community Hall was opened. Cilwendeg House, described as one of the most significant mansions in Pembrokeshire, dates back to the late eighteenth century and was constructed on the site of a former home dating back to the 1600s. One of the attributes of the property is the Grade II listed Shell House, built in the late 1820s. The 21 bedroom mansion was a care home from 1952 to 2010. Today, the village features a permanent population of approximately 736 individuals. The town is served by a frequent bus service. The Boncath Inn is positioned at the heart of the village along with a village shop and Post Office, as well as many small businesses. The Welsh Independent Chapel at Fachendre (Fach-hendre), established in 1879, can be located south east of the village and is a listed building. The Community Hall, a registered charity, provides a building that can be used for events within the area. Cilwendeg was the location of the 2013 Urdd Eisteddfod. For all of your house upgrades, ensure that you work with reputable specialists in Boncath to make sure you get the top quality service.

What are the best air conditioners for a conservatory?

Conservatories are a very popular structure in the UK, however one of their major setbacks is the fact that they can easily overheat or get too cold. This is something all conservatory owners in the UK can relate with as it often gets too hot during the warmer months and can also easily get too cold during the winter months. As a result of this, there’s a need for good calculations to be carried out by a professional surveyor to ensure that enough cooling power is recommended. If you own a conservatory and you’re thinking about installing a heating and cooling system to make the space very comfortable and relaxing, then you’d probably want to know what the best conservatory air conditioning system is. In this post, we aim to give you an in depth insight into this to help make sure you make the best informed decision possible. Let’s take a look!

Generally, low wall mounted air conditioners are often the best choice when it comes to conservatory air conditioning. As a result of the large amount of glass used in conservatory construction, several conservatories don’t have full sized solid walls. Consequently, specialist low wall mounted units can be installed quite easily. They tend to be a bit more costly than the conventional high wall units, however they’re able to offer an impressive solution to resolve the problem. What’s more? Low wall mounted air conditioning systems are also visually appealing because as with radiators, they are positioned out of your line of sight in such a way that complements the room.

A Checklist for Buying Air Conditioning?

With the UK’s climate which can be harsh sometimes, getting an air conditioner is simply the best bet. Over here the summer months can get overbearingly hot, which does not stop the winter months from getting quite chilly. With a heating and cooling system installed in your home or property, you can easily lessen the effect of both situations, ensuring that your structure is relaxing and comfortable all year round. If you have also decided to get one and ready to take the plunge, then you’ve come to the right place. With a wide range of choices out there, there’s a need to have a checklist before you purchase a unit, in order to get one that’ll be just right for you. Let’s take a look!

    • Determine the kind of system that’s suitable for your home. We have 3 major types of air conditioning systems which includes split systems, multi split system and ducted systems. While the split system represents a great choice for those looking to heat or cool or single room or large area, the multi split system is designed to power up to 6 interior rooms at once. Finally, the ducted air conditioning systems which is usually fitted within the roof and from the central unit, a series of ducts heats or cools each rooms.
    • Consider the features of house. This includes the kind of house you own, the size of the room(s) you wish to heat or cool, whether it’s insulated, the number of windows the room(s) possess, the layout of the room(s) and lots more.
    • Your budget. Air conditioning is an investment which will often require a substantial initial outlay which can be recouped after a long period. The amount of money you can spare will play a huge role in the kind of system you’ll get.
Air Conditioning Myths That are Costing You Money?

Do you wish to save money on your air conditioning expenses and energy bills? If yes, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to consider some of the common myths you shouldn’t buy into if you really wish to save some money on your air conditioning system. Let’s take a look!

    • The size of the system does not matter. This is one of the biggest mistakes you can make when purchasing an air conditioning system. A too large system will not only consume more energy meaning more higher heating bills, but will also keep turning off till it finally breaks down. And on the other hand, a system that’s too small would have to work harder to have your space cooled which means that it’ll wear down sooner. Consult a specialist in order to determine the right size of HVAC unit for your home.
    • Turn down the temperature for a faster cooling. The fact here is, your AC system works just as hard whether you lower it 4 degrees or 25 degrees. Therefore, getting the temperature you want is just a matter of time. Also, you can end up paying a higher bill if you set it lower than you need to and in the process you happen to forget about it. Here, using a programmable thermostat can save you money and you’ll also get the temperature you really want.
    • You don’t have to change the air filters. This is an idea you never buy into if you wish to save money. Air filters are usually inexpensive and can save you huge repair costs as well as heating bills on the long run. Normally, air filters should be replaced every 30 to 90 days by a specialist.
