Yarm

Yarm is a village in North Yorkshire, England. The community is on the south financial institution of the River Tees and also is traditionally part of the North Riding of Yorkshire. The bridge at Yarm noted the outermost reach of tidal flow up the River Tees till the opening, in 1995, of the Tees Battery, which currently controls river flow above Stockton. As the last bridge on the river prior to the sea, it was superseded by a brand-new toll bridge opened up in Stockton in 1771. The oldest part of the town, around the High Street, is positioned in a loop of the river, and also the newer parts of the community extend to the point where the River Leven meets the River Tees. The town is regulated as part of the District of Stockton-on-Tees.
