Langholm
Langholm is a burgh in Dumfries and Galloway in southerly Scotland. Langholm exists in between four hills in the valley of the River Esk in the Southern Uplands. It is the standard seat of Clan Armstrong with its most renowned descendant being Neil Armstrong, the initial male to stroll on the Moon. In 1972 he approved face to face being presented the first Freeman and Honorary Burgess of the burgh of Langholm. On accepting the distinction he claimed, "One of the most tough place to be recognised is in one's residence community. And I consider this currently my house town. The population in 2001 was 2,311.
