Berkeley
Berkeley is a small town and church in Gloucestershire, England. It depends on the Vale of Berkeley between the eastern bank of the River Severn and the M5 motorway, within the Stroud administrative district. The community is noted for Berkeley Castle, where the imprisoned Edward II was murdered, in addition to the birth place of the physician Edward Jenner, leader of the smallpox vaccine, the globe's initial injection. The church includes the village of Berkeley Health, which leaves the A38 Bristol to Gloucester road as well as the nearby B4066 towards Berkeley. An electoral ward in the very same name exists. This ward extends from Berkeley in the south to Hinton in the north. The total ward population taken at the 2011 census was 4,181.
