Studley
Studley is a huge village and also civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon area of Warwickshire, England. Positioned on the western side of Warwickshire near the border with Worcestershire it is 4 miles (6 kilometres) southeast of Redditch and 13 miles (21 kilometres) northwest of Stratford-upon-Avon. The Roman road of Ryknild Street, now the A435, travels through the village on its eastern side, parallel to the River Arrow. The name originates from the Old English leah, being a meadow or pasture, where steeds, stod, are kept. Studley is in some cases claimed to be the largest town in England, nevertheless, this is incorrect as it is not also the biggest village in Warwickshire. Although Polesworth as well as Bulkington are bigger, by population, they could be classed as a country. The United Kingdom Census 2001 reported Studley's population as being 6,624, decreasing to 5,879 at the 2011 Census.
