Isleworth is a small town with Saxon origins, set within the London Borough of Hounslow in West London, England. It is located to the east of the town of Hounslow and west of the River Thames and its tributary, the River Crane. The town's initial settlement area, beside the River Thames, is referred to as 'Old Isleworth'. The north-west corner of the town, connecting on to Osterley and Lampton, is called 'Spring Grove'. Although Isleworth originally had a Thames frontage of roughly one mile, leaving out that of the Syon estate, a borough border adjustment in 1994 reduced this to half a mile so as to increase land in the district of St. Margarets, Twickenham.
