Aviemore
Aviemore is a community and also tourist resort, positioned within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. It remains in the Badenoch and Strathspey committee area, within the Highland council location. The town is prominent for snowboarding and various other wintertime sporting activities, and for hill-walking in the Cairngorm Mountains. There are excellent views of the Cairngorms from different locations within the town, specifically from the railway station. The Aviemore rock circle is located within a household area of the town. Aviemore lies on the B9152 (the "old" A9 roadway since the highway from Inverness to Perth was restored better west in 1980). Aviemore railway terminal is on the Highland Main Line and Aviemore is also the southern terminus of the Strathspey Train, a heritage railway.
