Arundel
Arundel is a market community and civil parish in a high vale of the South Downs, West Sussex, England. The much-conserved town has a medieval castle and Roman Catholic cathedral. Although smaller sized in population than many other churches, Arundel has a museum and comes second behind much larger Chichester in its number of detailed buildings in West Sussex. The River Arun runs through the eastern side of the town. Arundel was among the districts reformed by the Municipal Reform Act 1835. From 1836 to 1889 the community had its very own Borough police with a strength of 3. In 1974 it entered into the Arun area, and is currently a civil church with a town council. A selecting ward of the very same name exists. This ward extends north to Houghton with a total population at the 2011 census of 4,298.
