The name indicates long valley. It has to do with 4 miles long, running about north to southern, as well as it is divided from the Severn valley by a range of hillsides consisting of May Hill (937 ft), Huntley Hill, Blaisdon Hill and also Notwood Hill.' The town falls in the 'Blaisdon and Longhope' electoral ward. This ward has Longhope in the north and Blaisdon as its smaller sized south neighbor. The complete ward population taken at the 2011 census was 1,754. May Hill is a popular landmark and the ownership of the summit is vested with Longhope Parish Council. Little London becomes part of the Church of Longhope as well as is discovered to the north of the town resulting in the neighbouring town of Huntley. Little London got its name as many households from London were left to the security of the countryside during the 2nd World War. After the war, a variety of the family members remained in Longhope and also the bordering areas.
