Do you need to replace your front door? There are many options available to you but none quite as popular as composite doors. But why is this particular type of door the nation’s favourite and why would you consider it for your own home?
There are many reasons to choose a composite door. For starters they look amazing and there is a wide range of choice in the design and style to choose from. If you want a modern day appeal then you can certainly get just that, with contemporary designs to go together with the times. But if you want the attractiveness of traditional front doors, then there are Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian designs to select from.
Moreover you'll be able to choose a colour that properly matches your house. Whether you invest in a classic white or black front door, or would prefer the daring red, blue or green, the final decision is yours.
But why not consider the composite door’s additional features? Together with a strong overall look, you benefit from excellent insulation and a durable, resistant installation. The construction of the door helps ensure heat is unable to pass thorough and exit your house, cutting down your expensive energy expenses.
Composite doorways are constructed to withstand impacts and the weather too, lasting for decades with practically no maintenance. A GRP (Glass reinforced plastic) skin enables you to protect the front door making certain it continues to look great for a long time to come.
The average cost of Composite front doors is £950. Costs alter based upon the materials and the firm chosen. The upper price range can be as high as £1092.5. The material costs are normally about £237.5

Abertillery is the biggest town in the Ebbw Fach Valley in Gwent, Wales. It is enclosed by the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Blaenavon World Heritage Site. The town was formerly a major coal mining centre in the past, but the landscape is now restored to its former beauty.
Abertillery had a population of 11,528 at the 2001 census, and 9.9% of the town spoke Welsh. At the 2011 census, this figure dropped to 7.2%.
The town centre consists of Victorian architecture as it was developed in the 19th century. It used to have two department stores and a covered shopping arcade. The Blaenau Gwent Borough Council are refurbishing these places through a remodelling and modernisation project. Currently the finished projects include many streets and Abertillery's Metropole Theatre. As well as putting on plays and shows it is the home of Abertillery Museum.
The steep nature of the hills around the town centre can make it difficult for the town to expand. But it has meant that Abertillery Park, the local rugby ground, looks like an ampitheatre. It's often described as one of the most beautiful rugby grounds in world rugby.

As the name suggests, composite doors are made up of multiple components or materials which includes uPVC and foam or solid timber core, just to mention a few. Individual materials incorporated manufacturing a composite door plays their own important role with unique properties which are perfectly blended to give the strongest and most durable door materials currently available in the market. These materials are pressed and glued together as they’re subjected to high pressure conditions.
The need to counteract the weaknesses found in most single material doors, ultimately gave birth to the development of composite doors - which puts together several materials with specific properties to cancel out each others’ excesses or weaknesses. Purchasing a composite door means a valuable investment in a sturdy door frame manufactured using the toughest and most robust materials. In other words, you’re increasing the security of your home, enjoying the weatherproofing qualities of the door and also giving you a peace of mind knowing both your loved ones and properties are safe, well protected and secured. Apart from the materials used in making the door, you’re also provided with an array of choices when it comes to the personalization of the door to your needs and taste. You can choose from a variety of colours, woodgrain effects, textures as well as finishes.
Overall, composite doors also requires little maintenance and are very durable. Due to the modern techniques used in manufacturing a composite door, the colour as well as beauty is guaranteed to last a very long time. What’s more? Generally, the composite is weather and fade resistant so you won’t have to worry about spending either time or money for the care or maintenance of your door even after frequent or heavy usage.
Do you have a composite door and wondering the best type of lock that can be used on your prized asset. To choose the right type of lock for a composite door, it’s of utmost importance to select one that’s designed to work perfectly with the composite configuration. By doing this, you’ll improve the security of your home while also achieving the desired look. To secure a composite door, the most common way is by incorporating a high security multipoint lock. Therefore, depending on the look you want for your door as well as how you want it to function, here are the four types of locks you can consider to go with your composite door.
• Split Spindle Lock
A split spindle lock would be your best bet if you’d like to automatically prevent access to your home from the outside. This lock allows you to open your door smoothly by utilizing the inside handle, however, you’ll need a key to turn the latch bolt to gain access back inside.
• Lever or Lever Lock
If you want an unhindered access in and out of your property, a lever lock gives you this opportunity without the need for a key until it’s totally deadlocked. The lever lock is installed to the back door which makes unauthorized entry even less likely.
• Slam Lock
If you’d prefer a super fast locking, then this lock type is your answer! It automatically triggers the lock hooks immediately you close the door - without having to lift the handle. However, to gain access to the inside of your home or bolt the door from the inside, you’ll need a key.
• Key Wind-Up Lock
This lock is wholly key operated and totally handle-free. Immediately the door is closed, the latch bolt will be automatically activated, ensuring that a key would be needed to gain access back inside.
When it comes to the installation of an external door in your home or property, you’ll be indulged with a plethora of styles and options available in the market today. But as you would have imagined, not all of these options and styles are created equal. Not all can match the security and quality standards of a composite door. A door’s quality is greatly influenced by a wide variety of factors such as the materials incorporated as well as the overall design. For instance, going for a door made with low quality materials can as well be synonymous with leaving your door open while going out.
Composite doors are modern type of door used in homes in recent times. They’ve been design to combat the common flaws identified in singular material doors. The door puts together a perfect mix of materials which have been singled out due to their beneficial properties and effectively taps out the “old flaws. Composite doors are known to be highly resistant to weather conditions, no matter how extreme and unlike singular material doors, it does not react quickly to seasonal changes. And as a result of the insulating foam core of composite doors, they possess a higher thermal resistance than wooden doors.
Generally, a composite door is designed in such a way that makes it look as a wooden door featuring a very alluring wood grain. With the exceptional quality of the materials incorporated, the colours won’t fade, no discolouration will take place and ultimately, it doesn’t require much more than wiping with a damp cloth when it’s dirty as maintenance activity. In conclusion, composite doors are greatly designed modern doors which are manufactured using various materials. The premium quality provided by composite doors is unrivalled in the door industry.
A composite door is a valuable investment any homeowner would be glad to make due to its numerous benefits. Not only are they super energy efficient and good looking, but also exceptional when it comes to keeping your house warm and guaranteeing your safety and maximum security. They come in wide range of styles, colours as well as personalization options, which makes them one of the most popular and strongest door you can find in the market today. However, the question that hangs over the mind of many potential investors is how fade resistant are composite doors? Would the visual appeal remain intact for a long period of time or fade away after a few years of exposure to intense sun?
The last thing any homeower would want to see is a priced asset looking dull and tired only after a couple of years after installation. Owners of timber doors worry about having to re paint every couple of years. UPVC door owners worry that their doors can, at times, start to fade when exposed to a strong and intense sunlight. So what exactly do composite door owners worry about? The simple answer is absolutely nothing! Proud composite door owners only have to do a quick wash with a warm soapy water as upkeep for their long lasting and durable asset. This is because composite doors are typically made from Glass Reinforced Plastic outer skin which makes them highly resistant to the element. So whether it’s raining heavily or the sun is shining intensely, the colours of your beloved composite door will not fade and will remain exactly the same way it was when purchased. No matter what the UK weather throws at them, the reinforced plastic skin and robust core ensures the door remains water tight and in top condition always.
