Colwyn Bay is a town, community and seashore holiday resort in Conwy County Borough over the north coastline of Wales overlooking the Irish Sea. Eight neighbouring areas are integrated within its postal region. Founded as its very own separate parish in 1844 with only a small collection of houses and farms in which the community of Old Colwyn is today, Colwyn Bay has extended to become the second-largest community and business centre within the north of Wales plus the 16th largest in the whole of Wales with the urban statistical area which has a population of 28,992 at the 2001 census.
