Very good
The home heating system is among the most crucial areas of your own home. Your central heating boiler gives you heat and hot water all year long and the odds are you take little notice of it. Why would you if it's churning out warmth during the year without a problem?
But exactly how pricey are your energy bills? Did you know that upgrading your boiler could save you more than £300 annually on bills as a result of enhanced performance? If your central heating boiler is over 10-years old, then the likelihood is there's a massive saving to make.
However, paying for a new boiler isn't the least expensive of home improvements. It's not the most costly either, and you could be looking at in between £1,500 and £2,000 for a very efficient combination central heating boiler.
To help overcome this initial price tag you might consider boiler finance. With finance you'll pay a regular monthly fee for however long you choose to cover the price of the central heating boiler. This can be as little as 12 months and definitely helps people who can't afford the full one-off payment.
In the event that your central heating boiler breaks down all of a sudden as well, you might think about boiler finance without the funds easily available in the bank. Boiler finance is ideal and even though there is a small interest payment, it's a convenient alternative.
The average cost of replacing your gas boiler is £2,500. Costs differ based on the type and brand of boiler you choose as well as the provider you decide to go with. For example, a small local business may be able to offer a better price than a large national tradesman as they will have fewer overheads. Itâs best to get a range of quotes from different boiler engineers so you can compare prices, reviews and references before going ahead.

Westerham is a community as well as civil parish in the Sevenoaks Area of Kent, England, situated 5 miles (8 km) west of Sevenoaks. It is recorded as early as the 9th century, and was pointed out in the Domesday Book in a Norman kind, Oistreham (compare Ouistreham in Normandy, Oistreham in 1086). Ham is Old English for a town or homestead, and so Westerham means a western homestead. The River Darent flows via the town, and also formerly powered 3 watermills. Westerham was house to the Black Eagle Brewery, which was taken control of by Taylor Walker & Co in the 1950s, entering into Ind Coope in 1959 and enclosing 1965. Yeast from the brewery was preserved at the National Collection of Yeast Societies and also is currently used by the present day Westerham Brewery which was established in 2004 by Robert Wicks. The brewery creates a variety of ales, including Westerham British Bulldog. Westerham was residence to Crayford Engineering, an effective automobile conversion company, from 1962 to the 1980s, working from a workshop at Squerryes Mede.

When it comes to gas boilers, this is one of the most frequent questions that always pops up and for a good reason. When you invest a considerable amount of money to acquire and install a gas boiler in your home or property, it’s only reasonable not only to expect the boiler to warm up your home efficiently, but also to do so for a long period of time. If you’ve just bought or about to get a new gas boiler, it’s likely you won’t have to worry about getting a replacement for a lengthy period of time. Several gas boilers will last for anywhere between 10 to 15 years on the average. However in the event whereby you have an existing one that’s fast approaching the end of it’s useful life, then you should know the time go get a new gas boiler is just around the corner, and the earlier you make the purchase, the better (to avoid any surprise breakdowns that’ll leave your home super uncomfortable).
Just like any other home appliance, it’s a fact that an older gas boiler ( especially those that have been installed over a decade ago) are significantly less efficient that the new modern ones. When the older versions were manufactured is a completely different time to now as both technology and climate concerns are wide apart. So when your existing boiler is approaching the end of it’s useful life, it’ll be wise to start saving up to cover the cost of getting a new one. However, if it’s only about 5 years ago your boiler was installed, it’s highly likely to still be very efficient.
Condensing boilers are the in-thing when it comes to modern heating systems in UK homes and across the globe for a good reason. This is primarily due to the fact that condensing boilers happens to be highly efficient as it enables the fuel you’re burning to heat up your home go a lot further. Having a new high efficiency condensing boiler rather than an old G-rated non condensing boiler will not only enhance your heating controls, but also save you a lot of money annually. In this article, we’re going to take you through the basics of a condensing boiler. Let’s take a closer look!
If you’re interested in getting a greener and more efficient boiler, you simply can’t afford to look beyond a high efficiency condensing boiler. This is purely due to the fact that these condensing boilers happens to make a better use of the heat they’re able to produce from burning fuels like oil or gas ( in other words, they require less heat from the burner, which makes them a lot more efficient).
So how does a condensing boiler work? Unlike a non-condensing heat-nly boiler, some heat will be wasted in form of hot gases which are released from the flue. Meanwhile a condensing boiler captures some of the heat from these gases and puts them to use for heating up water that’s coming back from your central heating system. As a result, it requires just a minimal heat from the burner which make the boiler more efficient.
You should take note that all new modern boilers are condensing boilers. Therefore if you’re planning to replace an old boiler with a new one, you’ll definitely be buying a new condensing boiler and benefit from all the efficiency and savings that comes with it.
In the UK, more than 50 percent of the money paid for utility bills is aimed at heating and hot water costs as stated by the Energy Saving Trust. This also means that when you settle for an old or ageing boiler, you’ll have to unnecessarily incur high utility bill in order to heat your home and have hot water on demand. In this kind of situation, the most effective and practical solution is to fit a new gas boiler in your home. This will provide you several benefits such as improved efficiency and reliability as well as reduced operating costs.
However, the only drawback here is the fact that removing your old gas boiler and replacing it with a new gas boiler isn’t a 5 minute task. And as you would have expected, like many other home improvement project there’s always an element of disruption that you’ll have to put into consideration when fitting a new gas boiler system. Good news is, with a qualified and experienced heating companies, these disruptions can be kept at a minimum. So now let’s take a look at how long it’ll take to replace a gas boiler depending on the type.
✓ An existing combi boiler upgrade - Installation times may vary, but typically the removal of an existing combi boiler and installation of a new one will usually be completed in a day - about four to six hours.
✓ Converting a regular to a combi boiler - Due to the fact that these type of project is usually labour intensive, it’ll take longer to complete - about 2 days.
✓ First time installation of new boiler to a home. This will usually take about 3 or more days because new pipes and other tasks need to the installation will be carried out.
If you’re thinking about getting a new gas boiler for your home or property, then you might also be wondering how much it’ll cost you so you can set a budget and start planning. As simple as this question sounds, it’s actually very tricky to provide a simple and short answer as the costs of installing a new gas boiler alone varies greatly based on the parts needed, the amount of work required, your location, their availability as well as the company you hire for the project.
When it comes to purchasing a new gas boiler the price you’re expected to pay also depends on multiple influencing factors such as the type, brand as well as your most preferred gas boiler model. However, one thing you should have in mind is the fact that your gas boiler is right at the heart of your home or property and can be a complicated piece of machinery. As a result, you wouldn’t expect gas boilers to come cheap. Generally, it’s going to cost within the range of £500 to about £2,500 to get a new gas boiler. Therefore, it’s always advisable to obtain all necessary details and facts before you decide to purchase a replacement gas boiler.
This price range may seem too high as it’s usually a turn off for most homeowners. However, it’s worth noting that gas boiler replacement costs and gas boiler installation costs are, more often than not, compensated by the saving you’ll make off your utility bills - all thanks to the new and more energy efficient boiler you just installed in your home. And even more importantly, when it has been estimated that roughly half of the amount spent on energy on an annual basis depends on your boiler.
