Settle is a small market community as well as civil parish in the Craven area of North Yorkshire, England. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is offered by Settle railway station situated near the town centre, and Giggleswick train station which is a mile away. It is 29 miles (47 kilometres) from Leeds Bradford Airport. The main road with Settle is the B6480, which connects to the A65, linking Settle to Leeds, Ilkley, Skipton and Kendal. It lies in Ribblesdale, at the southerly edge of the Yorkshire Dales, within a couple of miles of the Three Peaks. The River Ribble provided power for Settle's previous cotton mills, and also is currently being taken advantage of by Settle Hydro, a mini hydroelectric scheme, to supply 50 kW of power to the National Grid.
