Heating | Gas | Boiler Replacement in Birmingham
Very good
The home heating system is among the most crucial areas of your home. Your boiler provides you with heat and hot water all year round and the odds are you take little notice of it. Why would you if it's rolling out heat during the year without a problem?
But exactly how expensive are your energy expenses? Do you know replacing your central heating boiler will save you more than £300 annually on bills due to the improved performance? If your boiler is more than 10-years old, then the chances are there's a huge saving to make.
However, paying for a new boiler isn't the cheapest of house improvements. It's not the most expensive either, and you could be looking at in between £1,500 and £2,000 for a very efficient combi central heating boiler.
To help overcome this initial price you can contemplate central heating boiler finance. With finance you'll pay a regular monthly fee for however long you choose to cover the cost of the central heating boiler. This may be as few as twelve months and definitely helps people who can't pay the total one-off payment.
In case your boiler breaks down suddenly as well, you might consider boiler finance without the money easily accessible in the bank. Boiler finance is perfect and although there's a small interest charge, it's a practical alternative.
The average cost of replacing your gas boiler is £2,500. Costs differ based on the type and brand of boiler you choose as well as the provider you decide to go with. For example, a small local business may be able to offer a better price than a large national tradesman as they will have fewer overheads. Itâs best to get a range of quotes from different boiler engineers so you can compare prices, reviews and references before going ahead.

Heathfield is a modest market town in East Sussex, England. The town lies near the crossroads of two main roads: the A267 in between Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne; and the A265 from Hawkhurst. It is practically equidistant from Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne: about 16 mi (26 kilometres). In the past, Heathfield lay on an ancient trackway (The Ridgeway), connecting the South Downs with the Weald. Its market charter was granted in February 1316 throughout the reign of Edward II. The Wealden iron brought wealth to the town during the 16th and 17th centuries; the arrival of the train (the Cuckoo Line) in 1880 offered it another new lease of life. The latter was not a financial success and the branch line in between Eridge and Polegate closed in 1968. The trackbed is now called the Cuckoo Trail, part of the National Cycle Network. The initial village, described as Old Heathfield, is now only part of the town, which has grown over time. The town runs an annual fair named the Heffle Cuckoo Fair each April, and the yearly Heathfield show happens each May in the summer. There is an Anglo/French market called Le Marché held every year on the August Bank Vacation and a fair that visits through the Summertime. There is a rather sizeable football field and a little playground. At Cross-in-Hand there is a rugby club for adults and kids. Within the town, there are 2 flower shops, a number of churches, a couple of hair and beauty parlor, 2 boutiques, an electrical store, 2 bookshops, 2 ironmongers, 5 charity stores, 2 bars, a green grocer, a butcher, a baker, 2 antique shops, a grocery store, and a range of banks, estate agents, and eateries. For all of your home developments, be sure to find reliable contractors in Heathfield to make certain of quality.

A combination boiler, also referred to as a “combi boiler, delivers both domestic hot water and space heating in a single package so as to save space, and in a lot of cases, money. These great features makes the appliance a very popular choice in UK homes and in fact, it represents more than 50 percent of all new boilers fitted in the UK on a yearly basis.
Most modern and high efficiency combi boilers are usually stainless steel condensing boilers which normally features an in-built secondary heat exchanger to deliver domestic hot water to a home or property. What’s more? When it comes to the heating season or the cold months, the combi boiler will operated as required to heat a structure and offer hot water for showers, sinks as well as other hot water appliances around the house. And when it gets to the warm season or summer months, the combi boiler will only work when there’s a need for domestic hot water which also helps you save more money.
Combi boilers are able to provide domestic hot water in such a way that’s energy efficient due to two primary reasons - the combi units possess a very high operating efficiency and also have a low internal water volume. As a result, in during the hot summer when space heating is not required, you’ll only have to pay to heat up the hot water that you really need and not an entire tank.
Combi boilers also have the following benefits:
✓ Lower costs. Due to the combined nature of the boiler and the lack of tank in the roof space, the installation time and costs are at a minimum.
✓ Saves space in your home as it effectively combines a central heating boiler with a water heater into one unit.
When your boiler is being replaced you won’t have hot water or central heating. If you don’t mind this you can stay in your home, and use portable electric heaters if needed. Most installers undertake a power flush before installing a new boiler now and this can cause muck and debris from the pipework, so you may wish to get out of the way while this is happening!
A boiler is simply the most important part of a central heating system as it generates the heat that warms up the home or property. Basically, the appliance or small furnace makes use of gas, LPG or oil in order to fuel its operation. However in the UK, most boilers are usually fuelled by natural gas which is supplied automatically from the national gas grid. And depending on how it operates, there are various types of boilers.
Typically, a gas central heating boiler will have multiple pipes entering from underneath. While one pipe supplies the boiler with gas from the mains gas supply, another pipe allows cold water to enter the boiler to be heated, the last pipe then enables hot water to exit the boiler so it can be distributed around the home.
✓ There are fuel jets and heat exchangers inside the boiler. When the heating is turned on, a valve is opened to allow the mains supply gas to enter a sealed combustion chamber in the boiler. There are multiple little valves which permit the entry of the gas before being ignited by an electric ignition switch. These jets heat a metal component in the boiler known as a heat exchanger which works to transfer the heat to the cold water pipe and heat up the water.
✓ Once the water has been heated to the target temperature, it’s then pumped through a circuit of pipe which runs around your home by an electric pump.
✓ The heated water enter each radiator, is then transmitted via a closed loop and radiates heat into each room.
✓ Once done travelling through all radiators, the water then returns to the boiler at which it must have been cooled. Therefore, the boiler will have to reheat following the same process before circulating. The water can only be drained by a professional Gas Safe engineer
When it comes to gas boilers, this is one of the most frequent questions that always pops up and for a good reason. When you invest a considerable amount of money to acquire and install a gas boiler in your home or property, it’s only reasonable not only to expect the boiler to warm up your home efficiently, but also to do so for a long period of time. If you’ve just bought or about to get a new gas boiler, it’s likely you won’t have to worry about getting a replacement for a lengthy period of time. Several gas boilers will last for anywhere between 10 to 15 years on the average. However in the event whereby you have an existing one that’s fast approaching the end of it’s useful life, then you should know the time go get a new gas boiler is just around the corner, and the earlier you make the purchase, the better (to avoid any surprise breakdowns that’ll leave your home super uncomfortable).
Just like any other home appliance, it’s a fact that an older gas boiler ( especially those that have been installed over a decade ago) are significantly less efficient that the new modern ones. When the older versions were manufactured is a completely different time to now as both technology and climate concerns are wide apart. So when your existing boiler is approaching the end of it’s useful life, it’ll be wise to start saving up to cover the cost of getting a new one. However, if it’s only about 5 years ago your boiler was installed, it’s highly likely to still be very efficient.
