Kinlochleven
Kinlochleven is a village situated in Lochaber, in the Scottish Highlands as well as exists at the eastern end of Loch Leven. To the north lie the Mamores ridge; to the south lie the mountains flanking Glen Coe. The village was formed from 2 previously different little neighborhoods - Kinlochmore to the north of the River Leven in Inverness-shire as well as Kinlochbeg to the south of the Leven in Argyll - adhering to the construction of an aluminium smelter and linked real estate for its workers. The processing plant was powered by a hydroelectric scheme located in the hills above, and also made Kinlochleven the very first town on the planet to have every home linked to electrical power, creating the expression "The Electric Village". In 1991, the town (according to annual census returns) had just over 1000 citizens in some 420 households. Today it is a significant traveler location as well as centre for mountain searches.
