Longniddry
Longniddry is a town in East Lothian, Scotland, with a population of 2,613 (2001 census). The Scottish Female's Rural Institute was founded here in 1917. Longniddry is largely a dorm village for travelers, with good transport web links by road and rail (Longniddry train station is on the North Berwick Line) to the capital. The town has a number of neighborhood, area based resources consisting of local stores and also Longniddry Community Centre, which likewise houses the collection. Near to the collection is the Scout Hall used by the Longniddry Scout Group. The golf course hosted the Carling-Caledonian Tournament in 1961. Like several seaside communities in East Lothian, Longniddry has a sandy beach next to the fairway. This stretch of regional coastline is lined with dunes as well as called Longniddry Bents.
