Situated in Staffordshire in the West Midlands, Abbots Bromley is a small historic village. It is well-known for its annual Horn Dance held on Wakes Monday, the day following the first Sunday following 4th September. The Horn Dance is a folk dance from the Middle Ages where players dance through the village. In 2001, Abbots Bromley had a population of 1,799. The village dates back to 942, and is reported in the Domesday Book.
Abbots Bromley is situated 6.8 miles south west of Uttoxeter. The nearest railway station is at Rugeley which is 5.8 miles south west of the village. 1.8 miles from the centre of the village is the Blithfield Reservoir, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Abbots Bromley also shows the natural features of Bagot's Wood and the largest remaining part of the Needwood Forest, an age-old forest destroyed at the end of the 18th century.
