Sturminster Newton
Sturminster Newton is a community and civil parish in the Blackmore Vale area of Dorset, England. It is situated on a reduced sedimentary rock ridge in a meander of the River Stour. The community goes to the centre of a big milk farming region, around which the town's economic situation is built. The majority of the community (Sturminster) pushes the north side of the river, as well as includes most stores and solutions, whilst to the south is the smaller Newton. In between these two areas is a broad flood plain. The town was the house of poet and also author William Barnes, as well as, for part of his life, Thomas Hardy. The town has 43 stores, a primary and secondary school, and also a college as well as university wedding catering for youngsters with special academic needs. In the 2011 census the town's civil parish had a population of 4,945. A market is kept in the community on Mondays.
