Kenilworth

Kenilworth is a town and civil parish in the county of Warwickshire. It is set on Finham Brook, a tributary to the River Sowe, which joins the River Avon roughly 2 miles north-east of the centre of the town. The 2011 Census documented that the town has a population of 22413. Being five miles south-west of Coventry's city centre, Kenilworth is characterised as a dormitory town for commuters to Coventry, together with to other neighboring cities and large towns, such as Birmingham and Leamington Spa. Though it is close to the University of Warwick in Coventry, the student population of the town remains fairly modest, consisting mostly of postgraduate students and staff at the university. The town is primarily renowned for the ruins and beautiful gardens of Kenilworth Castle, which was established around 1120 in the Norman period, but continued to be inhabited until the end of the Tudor period. After 1983, Kenilworth Rotary Club has arranged a fun run in June in between Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle, referred to as the Two Castles Run, which brings in increasing numbers of attendees, with 3000 entrants in 2010 and 4000 in 2011. Kenilworth Abbey in Abbey Fields Park, St. Nicholas' Parish Church, and Kenilworth Clock, in addition to The Cross, a Michelin Star pub, are additionally attractive areas for tourists and visitors to the town. Kenilworth is home to lots of independent retailers and businesses, but the streets are increasingly filled by high street shops, providing its inhabitants and visitors a lot of possibilities to shop. FAQs

Do biomass boilers take up lots of space?

Many domestic biomass boilers are no bigger than a standard gas boiler. However, they do require a flue, a feeder and a space to store the fuel. These can be designed to suit many different properties and will fit in lots of homes or a garage or outbuilding.

Can I use a biomass boiler with other forms of heating?

Biomass boilers can be designed to work with other kinds of heating. The most common of these is solar thermal. This is a popular renewable energy pairing. Solar thermal heating will meet your hot water needs during the summer while a biomass boiler can operate as a backup during the winter when solar thermal panels do not perform as well.

Do biomass boilers need lots of maintenance?

Biomass boilers do require some maintenance. Many manufacturers recommend servicing twice a year, although this is often included in the installation cost. Many systems have automatic fuel loading that removes the need to manually load fuel. You will need to remove the ash from the boiler, but this is as easy as emptying a vacuum cleaner.

Is a biomass boiler compatible with my existing central heating system?

Biomass boilers will work with existing central heating systems, presuming this is not decades old, whether they use radiators or under floor heating. A surveyor will check the existing system you have in place before quoting for or recommending a biomass boiler to you.
