Bewdley

Bewdley is a tiny riverside community and civil church in the Wyre Forest District of Worcestershire on the Shropshire border in England, along the Severn Valley 3 miles (4.8 kilometres) west of Kidderminster and 22 miles (35 km) southwest of Birmingham. [1] It lies on the River Severn, at the gateway of the Wyre Forest national nature reserve, as well as at the time of the 2011 census had a population of 9,470. Bewdley is a popular visitor destination and is recognized for the Bewdley Bridge made by Thomas Telford. The main part of Bewdley town is located on the western bank of the River Severn, consisting of the major road-- Load Street-- whose name derives from lode, an old word for ferryboat. Load Street is significant for its width: this is because it as soon as likewise served as the town's market place. The majority of Bewdley's stores as well as services are situated along Load Street, on top of which exists St Anne's Church, built between 1745 and 1748 by Doctor Thomas Woodward of Chipping Campden. Past the church, High Street leads off to the south towards Stourport along the B4194, a road understood locally as "the switchback" because of its numerous undulations. Unlike in several English towns, High Street is so called not because of its relevance, yet due to its geographical setting 'high' over the river. Beyond of the church, Welch Gate (so called because it when had a tollgate when driving in the direction of Wales) climbs steeply up to the west, while Dowles Road, an extension of the B4194 leads northwest to Dowles and towards the Wyre Forest. To the northeast of the community is the woody hilltop of Wassel Wood in Trimpley, the southern terminus of Shatterford Hill. In the location between Stourport as well as Bewdley there are several large lodge, among which Witley Court, Astley Hall and also Swimming pool Home are specifically substantial.

FAQs

Can I use a biomass boiler with other forms of heating?

Biomass boilers can be designed to work with other kinds of heating. The most common of these is solar thermal. This is a popular renewable energy pairing. Solar thermal heating will meet your hot water needs during the summer while a biomass boiler can operate as a backup during the winter when solar thermal panels do not perform as well.

Do biomass boilers take up lots of space?

Many domestic biomass boilers are no bigger than a standard gas boiler. However, they do require a flue, a feeder and a space to store the fuel. These can be designed to suit many different properties and will fit in lots of homes or a garage or outbuilding.

Is a biomass boiler compatible with my existing central heating system?

Biomass boilers will work with existing central heating systems, presuming this is not decades old, whether they use radiators or under floor heating. A surveyor will check the existing system you have in place before quoting for or recommending a biomass boiler to you.

Do biomass boilers need lots of maintenance?

Biomass boilers do require some maintenance. Many manufacturers recommend servicing twice a year, although this is often included in the installation cost. Many systems have automatic fuel loading that removes the need to manually load fuel. You will need to remove the ash from the boiler, but this is as easy as emptying a vacuum cleaner.
