It is situated on the primary A496 coastline road in between Harlech and Barmouth. The ward had a population of 1,540 according to the 2011 census. The town of Dyffryn Ardudwy is located on the A496 seaside road between the communities of Harlech and Barmouth and also at the foot of Moelfre, part of the Rhinogydd variety. The village has a railway station and a long sandy coastline backed by sand dunes.
