Berkhamsted

Berkhamsted is a medium-sized historic market town around the western fringe of the English county of Hertfordshire. Positioned inside the compact Bulbourne Valley in the Chiltern Hills, its major purpose is as a commuter town, being 26 miles to the northwest of London. As per population records from 2013, the town has a permanent resident population of around 18,100, occupying around 7500 properties. There are plenty of properties in residential areas, with 77 percent of household areas being houses or bungalows and 23 percent being flats or maisonettes. Settlements have been in Berkhamsted for over 500 years, supported by archaeological evidence of flint working throughout the Neolithic age and metal working throughout the late Iron Age and Roman periods. Whilst farming, service and light industry were common occupations in the area in 1986, the most significant employers of the town in 2015 were schools and retail. Most of the corporations in the area can be found within the reputable Berkhamsted West ward. In 2014, the Academy of Urbanism's Urbanism Awards referred to the character of Berkhamsted's High Street as 'vibrant' and 'bustling', establishing a 'pleasant' and 'successful' shopping location. You can find a large array of shops and food outlets available to residents and tourists, being the location a combination of independent and commercial chain retailers, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. For social events, the Rex Cinema provides many new films for the residents of Berkhamsted to see. Being constructed in the art deco style of architecture in 1937, the Daily Telegraph has ranked the Rex as the UK's most beautiful cinema, and it was granted the title of Britain's Best Cinema in the first Guardian film awards of 2014. For all of your property improvement tasks, ensure that you employ reputable professionals in Berkhamsted to ensure you get the very best quality service.

Can I fit a bathroom myself?

Are you thinking about installing a new bathroom in your home? One thing that commonly crosses most homeowner’s mind is whether a task can be done by themselves without having to call on a professional for help and in turn, save them some money. So if you’re also thinking along this route, then you’re not alone!

Asides the kitchen, no other home project is probably more involved when talking about the systems as well as skills required. At times, it can be so complicated most expert DIYers will take a deep breathe before carrying out a remodelling job for a bathroom. Basically, bathroom installation will include electrical works, plumbing works as well as tile works which all requires a highly skilled tradesman. It’s the type of work where every square foot counts as it’s a dense, tight work. Apart from that, there are usually some frequent surprises here and there such as identifying rotting joists as well as sub floor underneath a leaking shower or terribly rusted cast iron plumbing stacks. And to round it all up, you’ll also have to deal with the time pressure that comes with a bathroom remodelling project as the room is a highly essential space within the home. As a DIYer you’ll be under immense pressure to get it all over with as soon as possible for continued usage.

The solution to all the problems is simply to call in a professional who can help you manage the project from start to finish. The advantage of this is that you’ll get a good job done and probably in a quicker time than you would have. However, the main reason why most homeowners might not want to hire a pro to handle their bathroom remodelling job is because of money. Ultimately, if you feel confident enough you can go ahead and do the task yourself. If not, then calling in a reliable professional would be your best bet.
