Alva is a small village in Clackmannanshire, set in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. It is just one of a variety of villages located instantly to the south of the Ochil Hills, collectively known as the Hillfoots Towns or simply The Hillfoots. It lies between Tillicoultry and Menstrie. Alva had a resident population of 5,181 at the 2001 census but this has given that been modified to 4,960 in 2006. It flaunts numerous features such as a park with an occasion hall as well as a newly opened up outdoor fitness center, and is the house of Alva Academy. Alva was historically in an exclave of Stirlingshire, however it was moved to Clackmannanshire in 1891.
